    Speaker: Dr. Stephen Roth - Board-Certified Oral and Maxillofacial Pathologist, University of Maryland School of Dentistry (Clinical Assistant Professor)

    Topic: Differential Diagnosis in Oral Pathology

    Course Objectives:

    • Understand the importance of complete and accurate differential diagnosis to avoid diagnostic pitfalls that impact patient outcomes
    • Learn when to biopsy or refer for biopsy and identify appropriate diagnostic materials
    • Develop systematic approaches to "next steps" in common clinical scenarios (periapical radiolucencies, lip nodules, tongue ulcers, mass-type lesions)
    • Apply differential diagnosis formulation through case-based learning of routine and rare oral pathology cases
