Medication Access and Training Expansion Course

8am-2pmDoubleTree by Hilton Hotel 15101 Sweitzer Ln, Laurel, MD 20707
Hands on Courses and Continuing Education for Dentists

In December 2022, the U.S. Congress passed an omnibus spending bill that included the Medication Access and Training Expansion (MATE) Act. This new law required prescribers of controlled substances, including dentists, to complete eight hours of one-time training on safely prescribing controlled substances (Schedules II, III, IV, and/or V) in order to receive or renew their registration with the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA). THE Southern Maryland Dental Society is offering a Six-hour CE Course to help meet these requirements. This course is in-person and will include a light breakfast and Lunch. Please see the attached registration form above. Please note that this 6-hour "once-an-done" course plus the Maryland State Board of Dental Examiners 2-hour course (required every other renewal cycle if you prescribe or not) equals the 8hr DEA requirement for obtaining or renewing of DEA registration.  Click here for more information.
